Writing is my passion.
In fact, I spent 11 years studying it!
I have always been an avid reader and writer, so it was no surprise to anyone when I earned my Bachelor’s degree in English from Siena Heights University in 2013. Although I enjoyed studying literature, I realized that I wanted to know more about how writing works and what makes it effective.
My fascination with the writing process led me to earn a Master’s degree from Kent State University and a PhD from University of Cincinnati, both in Rhetoric & Composition*.
As a writing scholar, I am adept at understanding who is the target audience and how you can reach them.
My work has always been mission driven and community focused, which motivates me to keep my content accessible to all.
Rhetoric is the available means of persuasion. Composition, in this context, refers to the writing process. When you put the two together, you can understand how people persuade others and effectively construct an argument through writing. We interact with rhetoric every day, and we write every day even if it’s not necessarily a traditional academic essay.
People in this field are considered experts in the teaching of writing and its process. That is why I emphasize my expertise in audience and persuasive writing! This field is also called Writing Studies.
